JMD Consulting Ltd wins bid for the Study Melbourne Hub in Kuala Lumpur

JMD Consulting Ltd (The Global Student registered company) was awarded the contract to manage and operate the Study Melbourne Hub in Kuala Lumpur (SMHKL) in June 2021. The Hub is one of four being developed by Global Education Victoria with its primary function being to support current Malaysian students who had returned home due to the pandemic and are unable to travel back to their Victorian institutions to complete their programs, as well as those who intends to commence their studies in Victoria but are left grounded till the travel ban is lifted.

The Kuala Lumpur hub, located in Petaling Jaya at Common Ground in the Jaya One complex, is a physical place for the students to connect, study, engage and experience a slice of campus life and what it’d be like in studying in Victoria. Here students will have access to a range of social, educational, cultural and professional activities designed to help them remain connected with their universities and with each other, even while in isolation off-campus.

Jan Drew, founder and Director of JMD Consulting and the company’s namesake said that she and her team comprising Hub Manager, Panchali Rajoo, Hub Event Coordinator, Teena Razak, with part time support for marketing and communications provided by Michele Lin Sinnathamboo and Jeanna David, of TGS, are all set and ready to open the Hub’s doors and welcome the students on board but due to the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown enforced, then extended, and extended yet again, they had to push back the date of the Hub’s opening to as late as August. Taking it sunny side up, Jan said the postponement of the launch just gives the team more time to fine tune their systems and processes making what’s already good, even better.

The Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur is at Common Ground in the Jaya One complex.

“We are very excited at the opportunity to provide this service, to learn new systems and processes in doing so, and once again to be engaging with students in the flesh, albeit local Malaysians this time. We look forward to forging new relationships with the Victorian government, hub stakeholders, and other service providers seeking to utilise the space”, she added.

So look out for future announcements on the launching of Study Melbourne Hub Kuala Lumpur on your favourite university / education online portals and mainstream media. Or sign up here to be added into the SMHKL mailing list to receive direct EDMs.
