Message from the Director

February slipped by in a blur of program farewells, Chinese New Year celebrations, and a lot of preparation for 2018 programs. We have had an amazing bunch of interns and program participants this summer, many of whom will make great ambassadors for future programs. I was fortunate to sit in on some final presentations and was very impressed with the maturity of the reflections on learning of some, however some still struggle with the transition from student to intern. As always, we learn a lot from our debriefings, and looking for ways to improve service delivery, and more efficiency in communication.

Currently we are working on the 2018 programs, and expect to host around 200 interns, a huge increase due to the direction of NCP funding last year. We have had a lot of interest from potential new hosts, many from referrals from current hosts that are very happy with their students from Aussie universities, and will again offer our new host forum in March that provides all the information they require to become a registered host. Click here for our current list of hosts.

We have also recently updated our website with not only the current internships, but our regular programs, and new offerings in Thailand and Vietnam. So if you have an idea for a new NCP program that you would like some assistance with, contact me for “no-obligations” chat.

But now, I’m taking a week off to unwind and recharge, before heading down to APAIE in Singapore where I hope to catch up with a number of people, followed by the ASEAN Education Dialogue in Penang, and then will be heading home after Easter where we will have a presence at the exchange fairs on some cities.

See you on the road!
