MABC Internship program 2018 -2019. A program for Australia's future leaders!

The Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) has been the leading voice of Malaysian and Australian businesses since 1986. The private non-profit organisation provides a range of services to its over 700 members based in both Malaysia and Australia. Supported by its co-patrons, the Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry and the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, the MABC supports member’s business interests through a full program of events and regular communication, and provides a comprehensive platform for both companies and individuals to successfully do business in Malaysia and Australia.
In response to the Australian Government’s Foreign Policy direction, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s New Colombo Plan Scholarship initiative, the MABC is offering a dedicated Internship Program over the Australian Summer (December– February) for Australian University students. The program aims to support the government in this important initiative that seeks greater engagement between Australia and Asia, and in particular it‘s ASEAN neighbour, with youth playing a key role as potential leaders in their fields. The Internship program is aimed at high achieving students from all disciplines and universities that are keen to take advantage of the opportunity to gain an international experience that adds value to their university studies. In developing this program, the MABC endorses the importance of this government initiative where industry professionals, local businesses and Australian alumni can each play a role in contributing to the successful outcome of the government’s policy.
MABC has sought interest from member companies that are willing to provide a valuable learning opportunity, both educationally and socially, to students across a range of disciplines. Applications are welcome from high achievers whose motivation is to gain understanding and reinforce studies through engagement with business and industry in an international environment. Not only will you differentiate yourself from your peers through undertaking an educational experience you can include on your CV, you will enjoy discovering this amazing culture, its people and it’s food!
An internship with MABC includes:
· A 12 week internship in a member company
· Invitations to monthly networking events
· A business briefing by Austrade
· A Chairman’s lunch (or dinner or breakfast tbc)
· Mentoring from successful business owners/leaders
· Welcome and Farewell dinners
Further value will be found in the opportunity to engage with like-minded student leaders, and the peer learning that comes from that.
Your program package also includes:
· Own room in shared apartment (sole occupancy)
· Orientation weekend
· Follow-up meetings with program coordinator
Transport to and from worksite and daily meals at own cost.
